Io, Jupiter's moon, is the image of a horizon of listening: high density, extreme aridity, radical volcanism and friction of materials. Attributes of a kind of intractable sonic offering, based on an economy of intensity and an accumulation of saturated aural phenomena that, despite everything, intend to cause a resonance.

Francisco Ali-Brouchoud is a sound and visual artist and writer born in Posadas in 1964. He has been working since 1981 in experimental and intermedial projects. Between 1998 and 2001 he received two grants from the Fundación Antorchas to participate in the Encuentros de Producción y Análisis de Obra. Between 2002 and 2007 he was curator of the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de la Universidad Nacional de Misiones (MAC-UNaM), which he co-founded. There, he produced a series of concerts of experimental music featuring Wade Matthews, Bhob Rainey, Lê Quan Ninh, Francisco López, Jorge Haro, Leonel Kaplan and Zbigniew Karkowski, among others. Between 2002 and 2005 he was part of Trama, a network of artists and independent venues from different regions of Argentina. His work was exhibited, among other places, at Centro Cultural Recoleta, Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA), Museo San Telmo (San Sebastián) and Museo Reina Sofía (Madrid). In 2005 he received, along with other artists, the "Germaine Derbecq" award for Artistic Experience of the Year, granted by the Argentine Association of Art Critics, for the group show "Formas de pensar" (MALBA, 2004). He has published numerous essays and critical texts on music, visual arts and literature in books, catalogs, newspapers and specialized media. In 2009 he was invited to participate in the 7th Mercosur Biennial, in the Radiovisual section, with a piece for the project "Sobre 4'33¨".Since 2009 he has been making Sound Kifu, a work-in-progress that proposes a dialogue between experimental music and the japanese game of go. Since 2011 he's a part of OPOB, together with Marcelo Cohen and Eduardo Rey, with whom he presented the expanded cinema and intermedial storytelling pieces "Cómo fuimos" (2012), "La Gran Bola de Pelusa" (2013) and "Luces del alba" (2014). Since 2017 he has been collaborating on projects with artist and video-performer Dudu Quintanilha. He composed and performed the live music for his work "Fantasía casi soneto después de una lectura de dan(c)e", video-performance premiered at the Buenos Aires Bienal de Performance in 2017. In 2018, he composed and performed live music for "Peup-", video-performance by Quintanilha commissioned by the Kunsten Festival des Arts, premiered in Brussels, and presented in 2019 at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires (MAMBA). He has performed concerts in Buenos Aires, Santiago, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Brussels, among other cities, and released the duo albums "Ganzfeld" (Noseso, 2016), "Spring" (Antena, 2020) and "Calibán" (CDR, 2019) with Sam Nacht under the name Ruido de la Plata.
